Previous Acting Comptrollers of the Currency

The National Bank Act empowers the Secretary of the Treasury to appoint Deputy Comptrollers of the Currency and to designate one of them as the First Deputy. The statute also specifies that the First Deputy serves as the Acting Comptroller when the office of Comptroller is vacant. Many have led the OCC as the Acting Comptroller of the Currency pursuant to this provision. Below are some of the more recent Acting Comptrollers of the Currency.
