Comptroller of the Currency Announces 2006 Workshops for National Community Bank Directors
WASHINGTON, DC—The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency recently announced its 2006 workshop schedule for national community bank directors.
The workshops provide practical information that expands bank directors' skills and understanding of issues facing their banks. This year's workshops cover risk assessment, credit risk, and compliance risk.
Comptroller of the Currency John C. Dugan said the response to past workshops has been enthusiastic. "Hundreds of directors have attended our workshops, and they have consistently given them high marks," said Mr. Dugan.
The workshops are taught by seasoned bank supervisors who include "some of the OCC's most expert professionals, who will contribute their years of experience to each program," Mr. Dugan said.
Space is limited to 50 per workshop to allow interaction among attendees and instructors. Each attendee receives pre-course reading and course materials, an OCC telephone seminar CD, a community bank supervision handbook, other supervisory material, a continental breakfast and lunch. The cost has been reduced to $65 per workshop.
Workshops are scheduled throughout the country and are geared primarily to outside directors of national community banks with assets of less than $1 billion. Management directors may also find the workshop beneficial. Bank directors may attend workshops at any location.
