Financial Technology
Technological changes in the banking industry are rapidly evolving. The OCC's focus in the financial technology area includes matters involving bank-fintech arrangements, artificial intelligence, digital assets and tokenization, as well as other new and changing technologies and business models that affect OCC-supervised banks.
The OCC established the Office of Financial Technology (OFT) in March 2023 to expand and build upon the Office of Innovation, which the agency launched in 2016. The OFT serves as the central point of contact and clearinghouse for requests and information related to financial technology.
